For anyone who’s into “The Wire’, which was one of the best shows on television as far as I’m concerned, you need look no further than Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale to understand the Capricorn Sun/Aries Moon combination.

The Capricorn archetype symbolizes all things administrative. Getting things done systematically and strategically in a businesslike fashion. With the Sun located here, one is fueled by ambition. The thought of seeing one’s efforts manifest into tangible form is a maintainer of life energy. To feel as if one has their vitality, they must see the fruits of their labor via a time-tested structure of some sort, or rise to the heights of status, being the “power behind the throne.”

The Moon in Aries reflects the light of the Capricorn Sun revealing a personality that wants to make things happen and be first in some facet of life. Both signs want to get things done, one for status and another for sheer IMPACT, which explains the inherent tension and stressful relationship between the two.

This combination can produce an individual who acts based on calculated risks and maintains immense courage in the face of adversity, or one who impulsively throws their hard work away because their knee jerk reactions tell them they need to constantly be on top.

When I saw this scene, I immediately thought about the two forces battling within the psyche of those who share this combination.

Stringer tells Avon “If you call the shot, We’re at war” and “I’m there like I’ve always been.”

This much is true, but it’s clear that the two have different approaches. One directly active, and the other more strategic. Capricorn says:” let’s do business and make our resources work for us.” While Aries says: “Let’s take what’s ours.”

The optimal use of this combination is the integration of the two.

  1. Hi my “by now” old friend. Just checking in and will email you. Interestingly, within about a minute of scrolling through your in depth article on Sag., which I enjoyed reading, I suddenly see myself, Capricorn Sun, Aries Moon. I had to wonder if you remembered me at all when contemplating its various workings in various persons. As esoteric oriented as I am, no one escapes their cosmic nature 🙂 the scaffolding is always there, yet it is always unique when we see how it is being used.

      1. LOL, the first thing I remember reading, back in the day, which had Sun/Moon combos, hit the nail on the head for this then young Capricorn. I believe it was Lewellyn George, who said, they wait like a Cat at a Mouse Hole, without relaxation of purpose. EDIT: just did a search for the exact quote and instead got this same page of yours, where you reference Lewellyn above. (hadn’t read your entire article 😦

Haaa that’s me. Add the Capricorn rising and it makes life interesting. Thanks

    Yup.
Except its not to be on top of what’s already there, its to be on top of what we see as the top. That’s why Avon wants his corners. He doesn’t want Prop Joe’s ish or Chris the Number Runner’s ish, he wants his ish. Avon wants them corners! So sometimes it seems like a knee-jerk reaction or like we’re throwing everything away but it’s not that. Avon might get right to the point where he’s about to have every corner in Baltimore and then walk away from it because its ONE little thing that’s not right to him.

You’re 100% right about us being the power BEHIND the throne too. I don’t want people knowing my name, I don’t want to be a star, I want to be the most famous person you’ve never, ever heard of. If you get a chance, google the interview with Sade (my Astro Twin till like Saturn) from like 5 years ago. Nobody in the record company’s offices knew her, she never went up to the label, she doesn’t do interviews, go to the parties and award shoes or allow stranger’s in the circle but that’s STILL Sade. That’s my role model professionally.
