Aquarius Sun, Aquarius Moon

During a recent conversation, I said that I think  the word “normal” has become a code word for “just like me”.  “Why can’t you just do things the normal way?” Why can’t you get a “normal” job? Why can’t you have a NORMAL relationship?

This seems to better known as: “why can’t you do things as I do them? (Or, at least in a way that doesn’t cause any discomfort on my part?)

When people are questioned in this manner, it leads me to draw the conclusion that often, there’s an underlying anxiety in being exposed to those who want to individuate. There’s somehow a sneaking suspicion that if YOU happily follow your natural inclinations, then MY internal guilt, and possibly some cowardice will be exposed for tightly toeing the line of social convention on everything imaginable.

The placement of both the Sun and Moon in Aquarius suggests that the individuals life force is fueled through channels and experiences which allow them to exercise freedom to discover and be themselves.

It’s fruitful for double Aquarians to be exposed to environments which will allow them to examine and question social conventions and ideas surrounding “normalcy”. With both the luminaries carrying Uranian influence, the conclusion may be that normal is a spectrum, or range more so than some humdrum destination we should all aspire to.

Essentially, the Sun represents our life energy and the Moon symbolizes the manner in which we can be most emotionally fulfilled.

With this blend, they’re headed in the same direction. The avant garde and unconventional assist one in “shining” and self-realization while there’s a hunger for rebellion against society’s “one size fits all” assumptions.

There’s a reigning need to stretch boundaries and push the envelope on WHY certain styles of life, careers, sexual orientations, and relationships are “best for everyone.”

The curious thing about this combination is this: while there’s the intense questioning of the status quo, there’s also the underlying belief that everyone “doing their own thing” will benefit the masses more than all of these stuffy, stodgy controls and regulations.

Your blend suggests a humanitarian streak, a champion of the people along with broad and strong views about where the world is headed. You require structure, or a “container” for these ideals.

That’s why Aquarius has TWO rulers. Uranus and Saturn.

Saturn’s co- rulership of Uranus says: “look, I know you want to be yourself and you want humanity to aspire toward individuation, and all of that good stuff, and certainly that’s your right, but there are LIMITS and BOUNDARIES to all of this.” In fact,, there’s a responsible, mature (saturn) way to express your individuality (Uranus). There are laws that need to be taken into consideration. What type of society would we have if everyone just wend buckwild?

Just like “normal” can be a spectrum, so can “authority”.

Authority doesn’t have to be something that you’re hopelessly bowing down to;  defeated and on your knees. Compromising and working with others can be a win-win. It rests on your ability to humanize individuals. Remembering that they contain a heart and soul. If you simultaneously “love humanity” and “despise people”, the road ahead of you may be a tough one indeed.

  1. Hi SM That last sentence… Chris Rock’s “I love Black folks, hate N*ggers*” came to mind. Yes, know naga = King. Aquarians love humanity but despise egoics.
