With this Venus/Mars combination in mind, we immediately delve into the world of feelings, emotions, relational security and ideals.

The application of will is directed toward harmonizing and developing rapport. With a Venus sign ruled by the Moon and a Mars sign ruled by Venus, there’s an appreciation of sentimentality, affection, and the smaller, yet more intimate gestures which bring us  closer to another human being. The ability to Intuit and just “remember” the preferences and needs of the “other” is highly pronounced.

For an individual with this cosmic makeup, emotional safety is about establishing avenues of trust and creating a safe haven where one can bear intimate feelings without being judged, ridiculed, threatened or manipulated. To engage in a mutual effort (teamwork) to help something grow, whether it’s a relationship or business partnership is a major part of this person’s life’s work.

There is a natural dynamic tension with this blend which can be illustrated by a person constantly having to adjust their approach to people because they struggle, due to sensitivity, with how to deliver feedback which may “upset the apple cart”. While they would like things to remain safe, there is a heavy burden of guilt should they become dishonest.

An important lesson is that one can’t be fearful of their own transparency as it undermines the true kindness which needs to be the foundation of all of their important relationships.

You can’t just brush your instincts to the side while grappling to find a more “cerebral” explanation.

A fair question may be:

What happens when you have to express certain thoughts and feelings to your partner that may upset the equilibrium in the relationship?

Sexually, there’s an expectation of coziness and private lust. What excites you is to “flip through” a portfolio containing a juicy gamut of feelings in service of a complete experience. There’s an emphasis on shared enjoyment and “returning the favor” in the name of true partnership. The erotic produces an emotional charge.

For you to be fulfilled, your emotions must link up with your ideals.

Aquarius Rising : “I Originate”

When discussing the rising sign, a.k.a. the ascendant, we’re automatically confronted with questions such as: “In what manner do I approach the world?”  “How do other people perceive me? Better yet, “What is the basic filter I have in place to process my life experience?”

An Aquarian Ascendant suggests an approach to life which stresses innovation in service of personal liberation. Living “electrically” tends to be of significant importance. Ultimately, this produces questions about what it truly means to be free in this world, and how we can become more of ourselves every moment.

The ability to detach, or take an exceptionally objective view of life assists the water bearer because there doesn’t appear to be a great investment in the opinions of others.

This type of orientation lends itself well to innovation and original thinking; the motivation to experiment, with higher hopes for discovery and fewer hangups in regard to social convention. In fact, if they had to make a clear cut choice, they would rather you be shocked than lulled to sleep by a milktoast meal of humdrum commonality.

Wearing the “mask” of the progressive, eccentricity is an article of clothing which is an essential part of the overall identity expression. Whether it’s reflected in your interests, vocation, appearance, or the books that you read, marching to the beat of your own drummer is “par for the course”.

People may see you as a futurist, change agent and visionary who’s concerned with social advancement even if it has to come in the package of provoking others thought processes in a manner which could be characterized as bizarre or erratic.

One of the largest lessons which Aquarius rising is here to teach us is : the UNTRIED can be just as TRUE. Sometimes, to set ourselves on an entirely new course is exactly what we need to shake the cobwebs off of a philosophy or outlook which has otherwise grown stale and moldy.

To those who insist on doing things the way they’ve always been done, Aquarian energy can be seen as disruptive or destabilizing. A proverbial “pulling the rug out from under” all that we think we’re sure about in regard to what constitutes “secure” structures within our lives.

You embody the unique arrangement and spirit of the rebel, weirdo, beatnik, revolutionary, eccentric, free spirit, reformer, anarchist, social activist, futurist and the mad scientist.

Saturn-Venus Transits : Exploring Core Values

Image result for core values

©2017 by Sagittarian Mind Consulting

When transiting Saturn contacts Venus in one’s birth chart, there are looming questions surrounding what one considers to be important to their existence as well as the durability and purpose of particular relationships.

While there’s no sure shot way to say for certain how this may materialize in one’s life, keep in mind that you may feel a certain strain which prompts you to explore the relevance of what have previously been regarded as important associations.

This can be a tough period, because you may come to the realization that you’ve been wasting your time with certain people. Or, the effort that you’ve expended far exceeds your return on investment.

While there’s a possibility that such situations could be restructured or redefined, you must take a more ruthless approach and prune all unions which don’t contain the degree of depth and substance that you desire. Where others are concerned, you’re better off facing the reality of who they are underneath the veneers rather than succumbing to any idealized fantasies about them.

Initially, you may label this approach as tedious and socially isolating, but given a healthy growth-oriented perspective, you can gain maturity and appreciate the newly offered gift of solitude as compared to loose, superficial bonds.

If this transit is successfully navigated, there will be very little doubts as to what relationships you can proceed with and solidify enduring bonds, and those which to not carry that potential. In the clutches of sobriety you can gain the capacity to realize that some things just aren’t worth saving. However, what you DO save and/or create during this time is more likely to be REAL if you allow immediate pleasure to take a back seat and give the wheel to self-control.

Intertwined with these lessons, there’s also a clarification and declaration of values which needs to take place. It’s important to be solid in what’s important to you. If you know the answer to this question, you must then ask if it’s reflective of your present mode of life. Also ask: What can I live with? What can I live without? Consulting your inner authority to address these concerns will be your best and most rewarding course of action.

Economically, there’s not so much of a “shortage of money”, but there’s a call for you to use what you have constructively; to be deliberate in your decision making when it comes to expenditures. While it’s said that ‘the road to excess leads to the palace of wisdom”, it also lends itself to consideration that “enough is better than too much.”

How To Work With Conjunctions In the Birth Chart : Focusing Energies

Conjunctions

If you’re new to Astrology, you’re probably trying to make sense of the slew of new terms that are being thrown your way all at once.  Chances are, just as you’ve figured out and obtained a handle on what ONE thing means- BAM! You’re hit with something else to decipher. I think you’ll find that this is all in the adventure.

The term that we’ll be covering in this blog post is CONJUNCTION.

The formal definition of a conjunction is:

“An aspect maintained by two or more planets posited within the same degree of longitude. It is sometimes called the aspect of prominence in that it brings the workings of the planets involved into a prominent position relative to the chart.”

Most Astrologers list a conjunction as one of the major aspects. However, it can be debated that it’s not an actual aspect because of the non-separation of the planets. Either way you look at it, the conjunction is the easiest to spot in a birth chart, because all of the planets are in the same sign. There are also instances where a conjunction would be possible between neighboring signs.

Some Astrologers use what are called orbs, which are spheres of influence between the planets to determine the relative strength of the aspect. I use the Whole Sign house system where I look at planets in the same sign as being conjunct no matter how far they are apart. I’ve found that planets in the same sign, no matter how distant are speaking the same language.

In your birth chart, where there are conjunctions there is UNITY and FOCUS.

The planets are like friends that are inseparable and you never see one without the other. If it’s a multiple conjunction it’s like a squad that hangs tight together. What ONE does, all of them do.

Using the chart above as a reference, we see that there’s a tremendous Sagittarian presence and the “crew” that’s involved is the Sun, Mercury, Neptune, Venus and the Ascendant.  All of these would play an important role in the individual’s identity development, as they’re situated in the first house.

Potentially, the portrait of this person would be one of an individual taking the most broad and all- encompassing view possible in seeking authentic truth and asking the enduring, large- scale questions that ponder our existence in this universe.

There’s a sense of someone who also seeks to educate and bring out the innate understanding in each and every one of us. Also, a desire to express opinions is prevalent as well as a universal way of relating based on personal growth and expansion.

The processes which are indicated by the planets in question operate in an undifferentiated manner through the psyche of this person.

This is merely a sample interpretation. However, if you have a conjunction (or multiple ones) in your birth chart, it’s of the utmost importance to explore the planetary energies which are in combination as well as the sign that they’re located in. There’s a potency and concentration here and where that’s the case, talents have the opportunity to emerge. Please check it out and I would love to know what you discover.
