Sagittarius Rising : “‘Panorama”

architecture-buildings-cityscape-87374

Your mission is life is to view the world through a colossal window.  With a Sagittarius Ascendant, the panoramic view is your birthright.

Your lens for processing your experience needs to be equipped with the desire to ask the large questions which provoke thought and create meaning. To a greater or lesser degree, broadening, elevating and expanding discourse is what you’re here to do. After you enter a conversation, it shouldn’t be the same. This isn’t because you monopolize it, but rather because you provide grist for the mill to stimulate the minds of others.

If you have it your way, life is one grand and robust conversation about a plethora of great ideas, concepts, theories and the actions which need to be taken to support these in real life.

Shooting your intellectual arrows and allowing them to fly freely is a skill that the universe has asked you to master. Breadth of perspective and inquiry can be one of your talents which can take you into realms that can benefit you in unthinkable ways.

While others may spend their time taunting you in regard to zodiac stereotypes concerning your non-committal or overly opinionated nature, don’t get stuck here.  Make it a point to spend your time on intellectual, physical and spiritual exploration. Aim your arrows in the direction of what truly inspires you while allowing others the space to feel about you how they want to feel.

Jupiter rules and commands your chart, so the enlarged outlook and questing nature is designed to permeate through all that you do. Keep in mind that your education is about what you bring to it. Don’t leave home without your mutability, which can be used to institute a much-needed flexibility of approach. Remember that allowing yourself to get steeped in dogma is your kryptonite.

Having the whole view is a gift. Use yours wisely. If you understand that your perspective is no MORE or LESS important than anyone else’s and is simply what you’ve formulated based on your life experiences, you’ll discover that we’re all fellow travelers on the same road and will be more inclined to inquire, share, discuss, learn and teach and less inclined to judge, cajole, insult or battle for rightness.

This is the Sagittarius Rising Panorama.

Moon-Jupiter Contacts in Relationships

African Moon Circle

In synastry (relationship astrology), when there’s contact via aspect between one person’s Moon and the other’s Jupiter, or vice versa, it opens the door for a wide array of possibilities.

The Moon symbolizes our deepest emotional needs reflected in the form of a personality. Security, comfort, warmth, nurturing and receptivity are all fall under lunar domain.

Jupiter represents amplification, elevation, protection and magnification. Jupiter’s archetype expands whatever it touches from the highest, most inspirational peaks to the depths of gluttony, exaggeration and overindulgence.

With this dynamic present between partners, both of you may feel that you “can’t get enough” of the other person. That there’s no such thing as too much. With these planets aspecting one another, there’s a sense of mutual admiration and protection.

Also, the tendency to hold each other up to the highest ideal. There’s immense potential for a heightening of mood. when in each other’s presence. An infusion of tenderness and heartfelt emotional exchange. The open sharing of feelings.

The flip side of this aspect is that the individual worlds of both partners could be stamped with the stigma of being hopelessly mundane in comparison to the union. This dynamic can contribute to a lackluster effort to explore the world on their own terms and inhibit the joy of independent discovery. The relationship then turns into “life is no fun without you.”

As with any synastric aspect, much of the degree and style of its functioning depends on the level of maturity and  self-awareness of the individuals involved.

Sagittarius Sun, Sagittarius Moon

cropped-orange-blue-head-circle.png

In a birth chart, when the Sun and Moon are placed in Sagittarius the core life energy which fuels the individual and the essential needs of the personality are inseparable.

The Sun’s placement in Sagittarius suggests that the person is stimulated by the freedom to influence and shape thought via free exchange of ideas, philosophies and opinions. There’s an inclination to view the world holistically, wanting to “take in” as much as possible through a broad, panoramic view.

The Sagittarius Moon uses the light and fuel of the Sun to reflect a personality who needs to have their perspectives taken seriously; to have their views respected.

This lunar placement suggests an emotional need to stretch barriers and boundaries and to shoot their arrows of thought into the realm of the unknown fused with the optimism that there will be new and progressive discoveries made.

Expansion in ALL forms serves as nourishment for lunar Sagittarians. A narrow or restrictive existence is an abomination to their principles.

Speaking of principles, it would help those with this Sun-Moon blend to understand this: the same freedom and justice which they so passionately fight for must be given to others who are on a quest for establishing THEIR own set of principles and philosophy of life.

When operating dysfunctionally, an individual with this Sun-Moon blend is capable of exhibiting the most hypocritical, inflated and self-righteous behavior.

The vast, broad overview somehow shrinks into a dogmatic and subjective bastion of “exclusive” belief. It’s as if arriving at “truth” has only ONE formula and they’re the ONLY one who is in possession of the secret concoction.

This pride, manifesting at times as a rather exalted view of oneself (perhaps as the only one who can reveal the “truth”) , is part of the dualistic nature of Sagittarius, the symbol for which is the centaur- half horse and half human. Sagittarius has the lifelong task of integrating their more idealistic nature with their more unrefined, impulsive, egocentric tendencies.”

“They often think too highly of themselves and want to project an admirable image to others.

They like to feel idealistic and upstanding, but if they look at themselves honestly, they often have to admit that they are not as impeccably honorable as they like to think; for they can rationalize their behavior as well as anyone when it is convenient or advantageous to do so.”

A constructive use of this Sun-Moon blend is to teach and assist others in casting just as wide of a net for their OWN lives as they do for themselves.

To accept others with the open arms that they expect the wide world to embrace them with. To spread infectious enthusiasm in allowing others to find their personal truths rather than forcibly creating a ready made version for them. To realize that the Sagittarian higher mind not only has it’s roots in intellectual exploration, but also in human tolerance.

Planetary Portraits: Jupiter in The 1st House : The “Professor at Large”

Jupiter Face

The Large Professor.

No, not the legendary hip-hop producer we all know and love, but the archetype of Jupiter residing in the Astrological first house, which represents, among other things: the projection of our identity.

In one’s natal chart, this placement suggests a need for free range of one’s intellectual faculties. A limitless space in which to expand one’s mind and experiences. Room to grow, improve and change. Essentially, this is a journey of the SELF and a quest to unearth as much knowledge as possible about how we relate to the larger world around us.

Another idea surrounding Jupiter in the 1st house is that there’s a push to experience life to the fullest and leave no stone unturned when it comes to research and exploration. Not content with “playing it small”, the voyage is on to find order in the larger patterns which are connected to our existence.

For those who experience Jupiter in the 1st, it’s as if you’re wearing a “Hello, My name is” tag that says “I’m a teacher and philosopher who most likely communicates with “missionary-like” zeal and enthusiasm.” “My oratory, no matter where I may find myself is evangelical.”

On the dysfunctional side, there could just as easily be a tag which says: “I know everything” “I’m a conceited, self-righteous windbag with an inflated sense of self”.

The great thing about it is: we have a choice on how to use all of our astrological placements. With Jupiter located here, knowing “when to say when” is key.

A broad awareness and ability to communicate higher universal principles is certainly in your grasp, but so is a “God complex”.

Relationship Astrology : Venus-Jupiter Contacts in Synastry : “Good Love”

GOOD LOVE. WILL. MAKE. YOU. CRY…… GOOD LOVE. WILL LAST. UNTIL……. YOU DIE….

When we speak about permanence in love from an Astrological point of view, Jupiter is probably not the first planet that comes to mind.

However, when happiness, good times and uplifting sentiments are in the picture, the largest planet in the solar system most certainly has it’s place. When Venus, which is a planet belonging to the intimacy network, makes contact with Jupiterian joy, a possible birth of that “good love that will make you cry” as expressed by Lucy Pearl’s Dawn Robinson, can become a reality.

Hopefully, these are tears of joy, as Jupiter amplifies EVERYTHING that it touches. At its optimal level, Venus-Jupiter contacts suggest mutual “cheerleading”.

The mutual enjoyment of one another surrounded by idealism and lofty philosophical principles. Both partners can serve as motivators for one another, wanting to witness the best of each other’s potential unfold.

There’s a strong possibility of joint growth and the expansion of horizons, whether it’s in the form of intellectual and physical travel or laughing together at a comedy show.

When these contacts operate in a dysfunctional manner, righteous indignation can insidiously creep its way into the relationship. The sense of togetherness diminishes on the grounds that there has to be ONE upright, principled partner while the other is a moral scallywag and needs to find their “God”, Jesus, or whomever else.

Another potential stumbling block is the refusal of one, or both partners to acknowledge the shadow side of the relationship. The most constructive course of action may be to firmly acknowledge that there are certain feelings that swirl around in intimate partnerships that don’t always meet our “ideal.” Furthermore, we must deal with them in a manner which gives a voice to all dimensions of our emotional life.

If you’re able to do so successfully, you can harness faithful commitment toward one another, which will in turn activate the longevity you may be seeking.  Otherwise, the “good love” will make you cry for the wrong reasons. Like having an imbalanced view that everything must be, or will be good ALL of the time.
